Week 3 – Start, Sit & Sleepers

QBs:

Start of the Week: Matthew Stafford – Picking the Qb facing the Redskins is becoming a habit.

Sit of the Week: Andrew Luck – Playing an angry and embarrassed 49er side = bad Luck.

Sleeper of the week: Carson Palmer – An opportunity to go toe to toe with Drew Brees and put up 400+ yards.

RBs:

Start of the Week: Chris Johnson – Back to back 25 carry games against tough defenses – he can cash in here.

Sit of the Week: Trent Richardson – The trade was a positive for Richardson owners but not this week.

Sleeper of the week: Chris Ivory – Getting healthier and 100 yards and a TD await.

WRs:

Start of the Week: AJ Green – The Bengals will be trying to keep up with Rodgers and the Packers can’t cover AJ.

Sit of the Week: Josh Gordon – You drafted him to wait out the 2 week suspension but he’s a wait and see option right now at best.

Sleeper of the week: Michael Floyd – Floyd was quiet last week but still had 7 targets and can have a big game here.

TEs:

Start of the Week: Greg Olsen – 19 targets through 2 weeks and the Giants have issues covering TEs.

Sit of the Week: Kyle Rudolph – Scored last week so tough to bench if he’s your guy but Browns are tough against TEs.

Sleeper of the week: Jermaine Gresham – Somewhat of a forgotten man but 2nd on the team with 9 targets last week and should get plenty of opportunity this week.

Defenses:

Start of the Week: Minnesota – The Vikings have special teams weapons and Hoyer under center for the Browns.

Sit of the Week: Cincinnati – Have I mentioned yet this will be high scoring?

Sleeper of the week: Miami – The Falcons without Jackson will have a tough time trying to run on Miami and with both star WRs carrying knocks they could struggle against a confident Dolphins unit.

Kickers:

Start of the Week: Blair Walsh – The Vikings will struggle to convert chances into TDs against the Browns and Walsh might kick 5 FGs this week.

Sit of the Week: Randy Bullock – It looked like Sandra Bullock was attempting the field goals last week.

Sleeper of the week: Dan Carpenter – The former Dolphin continues kicking duties for the Bills and should get plenty of chances here.

Sunday NFL Bets – Week 3

Here is a summary of the bets for Sunday’s games.

4 point bet: Detroit to beat Washington at Evens

3 point bet: Under 44 points Tampa Bay at New England at 10/11

3 point bet: Seattle -19 to beat Jacksonville at 10/11

2 point bet: New York Giants to beat Carolina at 20/21

2 point bet: Under 40.5 points Cleveland at Minnesota at 10/11

2 point bet: Arizona to beat New Orleans at 13/5

1 point bet: Green Bay -2.5 to beat Cincinnati at 5/6

1 point bet: Buffalo to beat New York Jets at 6/5

Week 3: Chicago at Pittsburgh

Keys to the Game:

Chicago: The Bengals TEs combined for 9/132 last week against the Steelers – Expect Martellus Bennett to have a strong game.

Pittsburgh: The Bears have given up 51 points through 2 games so far so the Steelers need to be aggressive on offense. Look for rookie WR Markus Wheaton to get a chance to impress.

Verdict: When the Steelers get Bell and Miller back maybe this offense will take shape but right now it’s a mess. The defense is good enough to keep them in games but the Bears will have too much scoring potential here.

Prediction: Chicago by 6

Suggested Bet: No bet

Week 3: Indianapolis at San Francisco

Keys to the Game:

Indianapolis: Lynch showed you can run on this 49er defense and Richardson will try and give the Colts that platform.

San Francisco: Look for Anquan Boldin to bounce back early after the horror show in Seattle.

Verdict: The Colts are getting a very angry 49er team and with or without Trent Richardson there is only one winner here.

Prediction: San Francisco by 13

Suggested Bet: No bet

Week 3: Jacksonville at Seattle

Keys to the Game:

Jacksonville: An act of God.

Seattle: Assuming all the Seahawks players don’t turn up drunk they can win this game any way they please.

Verdict: In an era of parity the Jaguars are 18/1 in a two horse race and a 19 point underdog. I think the Seahwaks cover that by half time and by the 4th quarter the call will have been placed to Tebow’s agent.

Prediction: Seattle by 28

Suggested Bet: 3 points Seattle -19 to beat Jacksonville at 10/11

Week 3: Buffalo at New York Jets

Keys to the Game:

Buffalo: Despite the heroic drive from EJ Manuel to beat the Panthers in week 2, the Spiller/Jackson combo is the key to winning here.

New York Jets: Time to find out if Chris Ivory is a legit RB. Give him the ball and let him run angry all day.

Verdict: The Bills have many more offensive weapons and the Jets will need a big performance from their defense. If Buffalo avoids the turnovers they can win this divisional battle.

Prediction: Buffalo by 3

Suggested Bet: 1 point Buffalo to beat New York jets at 6/5

Week 3: Atlanta at Miami

Keys to the Game:

Atlanta: The Dolphins struggle against TEs so expect plenty of targets for Tony Gonzalez.

Miami: Lamar Miller gave the Dolphins enough of a running threat to open up the passing game and the 14 rushes he had last week need to be a minimum.

Verdict: The injuries to Steven Jackson and Roddy White expose the lack of play maker depth on the Falcons roster. Miami can take advantage in a close game and win by a field goal.

Prediction: Miami by 3

Suggested Bet: No bet

Week 3: Detroit at Washington

Keys to the Game:

Detroit: The Redskins secondary is a mess and then Calvin Johnson appeared over the horizon…

Washington: It’s an insult to our intelligence to suggest that RGIII is fine and the games have dictated his lack of running. If he’s fine let’s see the read option early.

Verdict: The Redskins have been absolutely awful in the first half of both their games so far. The Lions have the offense to hurt Washington especially if Reggie Bush is cleared to play.

Prediction: Detroit by 7

Suggested Bet: 4 points Detroit to beat Washington at Evens

Week 3: San Diego at Tennessee

Keys to the Game:

San Diego: Hope that the clock doesn’t strike midnight and Eddie Royal turns back into a pumpkin.

Tennessee: Chris Johnson is still being ignored in the passing game. Get the man the ball in space!

Verdict: I’m still not buying the Charger revival and neither am I ready to trust the Titans as a favorite. The value is back the Chargers without the handicap but this is a game to swerve.

Prediction: Tennessee by 3

Suggested Bet: No bet.

Week 3: Arizona at New Orleans

Keys to the Game:

Arizona: Carson Palmer can go head to head with Drew Brees if he can avoid turning the ball over.

New Orleans: 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on the season so far for Brees and avoiding turnovers will be the key to this one.

Verdict: The Saints are 2-0 but people proclaiming them to be ‘back’ are premature. Beating the Lions was big for Arizona and I smell an upset…

Prediction: Arizona by 3

Suggested Bet: 2 points Arizona to beat New Orleans at 13/5
