Week 5: Jacksonville at St. Louis

Keys to the Game:

Jacksonville: Justin Blackmon is back and with Shorts makes one of the better tandems in the league. They need to be aggressive as they can’t run the ball.

St. Louis: They looked really bad last week and need to get back to stretching the field with Givens to open up the running game and short passes.

Verdict: The Rams and Bradford are morphing into Mark Sanchez and the Jets before our eyes. Surely they’ll beat the Jaguars but -11.5 is too high to trust a stuttering side to overcome no matter how bad the opponent.

Prediction: St. Louis by 10

Suggested bet: No bet

Week 4: Indianapolis at Jacksonville

Keys to the Game:

Indianapolis: The Colts will be full of confidence after their win in San Francisco and it’s hard to see Jacksonville beating anyone right now.

Jacksonville: Blaine Gabbert is back and that should increase their chances of having first choice to replace him in next years’ draft.

Verdict: The Colts ran the ball 40 times last week and they might come close to that again. Trent Richardson should have the biggest game of his NFL career with Bradshaw ruled out and the Colts should cover the 8 points.

Prediction: Indianapolis by 14

Suggested Bet: 2 points Indianapolis -8 to beat Jacksonville at 10/11

Week 3: Jacksonville at Seattle

Keys to the Game:

Jacksonville: An act of God.

Seattle: Assuming all the Seahawks players don’t turn up drunk they can win this game any way they please.

Verdict: In an era of parity the Jaguars are 18/1 in a two horse race and a 19 point underdog. I think the Seahwaks cover that by half time and by the 4th quarter the call will have been placed to Tebow’s agent.

Prediction: Seattle by 28

Suggested Bet: 3 points Seattle -19 to beat Jacksonville at 10/11

Jacksonville at Oakland

Keys to the Game:

Jacksonville: Henne should spark the offense but must avoid his habit for costly interceptions.

Oakland: Pryor to Streater looked to be a developing connection and that should continue here.

Verdict: Chad Henne is just a low end NFL starting QB but that still makes him a big upgrade on Gabbert. He should bring Cecil Shorts to life but he also brings a propensity to turn the ball over deep in his own half. Terrelle Pryor has made the Raiders interesting and I don’t think this is the low scoring struggle the odds makers believe.

Prediction: Oakland by 7

Suggested Bet: 5 points Over 39 points at 10/11

Kansas City at Jacksonville

Keys to the Game:

Kansas City: Andy Reid and Alex Smith have plenty to prove but it’s time for this to become Jamaal Charles’ team.

Jacksonville: MJD is healthy and will get all the work he can handle but to win the defense is going to have to contribute to the scoreboard.

Verdict: The gulf in talent between the Chiefs and Jaguars is big and they can cover the 4 points.

Prediction: Kansas City by 10

Suggested Bet: 2 points Kansas City -4 at 10/11
