Week 4: Miami at New Orleans

Keys to the Game:

Miami: The Dolphins couldn’t stop the Falcons moving the ball between the 20s last week but stiffened in the red zone forcing 4 field goal attempts. They will need more of the same here.

New Orleans: The Dolphins can have issues stopping TEs and if they don’t find a way to keep Jimmy Graham quiet it could be a long night.

Verdict: Miami rookie kicker Caleb Sturgis is yet to miss this season (6 from 6) with a long of 54 yards. A buy of Miami’s field goal yardage at 63 should yield a good profit.

Prediction: New Orleans by 7

Suggested Bet: 5 points BUY Miami Field Goal Yardage at 63.

Verdict: Miami will be relying on a bend but don’t break defense to keep this close. The Saints should have too many offensive weapons for the Dolphins to cope. The Saints defense has looked much improved but probably not really tested as of yet and Miami will look to get Wallace involved after a quiet week. The handicap of New Orleans -7 seems about right, The total points feels a bit high but probably a game to avoid.

Prediction: New Orleans by 7

Suggested Bet: No bet

Week 4: Philadelphia at Denver

Keys to the Game:

Philadelphia: Chip has had 10 days to plan so expect a few wrinkles and it’s going to take a fast start to keep the Eagles in this.

Denver: Peyton against this secondary is almost unfair. If Philly make a game of it and Peyton needs to keep throwing this one could go into the record books.

Verdict: Can the Eagles get up early and make this a classic? Probably not and if the Broncos can shut down another opponents running game then this could get ugly for Vick. Expect a monster first half for Manning and multiple turnovers from Vick and a dull 2nd while you wonder if your bet will lose to garbage points.

Prediction: Denver by 14

Suggested Bet: 2 points Buy Touchdown shirts at 385

This is a salary cap game with $60k to spend – Here is my team for week 4.

QB: Peyton Manning $9,900

RB: Trent Richardson $8,000

RB: Marcel Reece $4,500

WR: Demayrius Thomas $8,400

WR: Torrey Smith $7,000

WR: Aaron Dobson $5,000

TE: Julius Thomas $6,600

Kicker: Ryan Succop $5,200

Defense: Denver $5,400

Total: $60,000

Start, Sit & Sleepers – Week 4

QBs:

Start of the Week: Peyton Manning – Forgive the obvious call but Peyton will throw for 3 or 4 TDs in the first half. If the Eagles can somehow keep it close, Peyton could do something crazy.

Sit of the Week: Russell Wilson – The Seattle offensive line is banged up and this was a tough start anyway.

Sleeper of the week: Joe Flacco – The Ravens should find it much easier to move the ball this week and Flacco has a high floor.

RBs:

Start of the Week: Trent Richardson– With Bradhsaw out, Richardson can have the biggest game of his NFL career.

Sit of the Week: Rashard Mendenhall – Just no explosiveness left and a tough match up in Tampa.

Sleeper of the week: Marcel Reece – Could be a sneaky start in PPR leagues against the Redksins D who struggled against Joique Bell.

WRs:

Start of the Week: Torrey Smith – Having a good year without finding the end zone. That will change Sunday.

Sit of the Week: Vincent Jackson – Not 100%, change at QB and Patrick Peterson to contend with.

Sleeper of the week: Mohamed Sanu– With AJ Green getting the attention of Hayden, Sanu should see plenty of targets.

TEs:

Start of the Week: Jimmy Graham – He’s unplayable right now and the Dolphins won’t be able to contain him.

Sit of the Week: Heath Miller– The Steelers are easing him back in limiting his snaps so wait another week.

Sleeper of the week: Delanie Walker – 5 catches on 8 targets last week and when they find it hard to run the ball Walker could see an increase in looks.

Defenses:

Start of the Week: Denver – With the Eagles playing from behind and the Broncos tough against the run, Vick might have to throw 50 times and that will be a recipe for turnovers.

Sit of the Week: Pittsburgh – The Vikings will try and make this a short game with plenty of running and the chances of turnovers are going to be minimal.

Sleeper of the week: Washington – This is crazy right? The Redskins have been historically bad over the first 3 weeks. This suggestion is only if Matt Flynn plays as his lack of mobility with the Raiders O-Line issues could be a disaster.

Kickers:

Start of the Week: Ryan Succop – Started the season well and should get plenty of chances.

Sit of the Week: Steven Hauschka – The Seahawks could struggle to give him enough scoring opportunities this week.

Sleeper of the week: Randy Bullock – After a shaky start he was 3 for 3 last week and could have a big day.

Sunday NFL Bets – Week 4

Here is a summary of the bets for Sunday’s games.

4 point bet: Baltimore -3 to beat Buffalo at 10/11

3 point bet: Cincinnati -3.5 to beat Cleveland at 20/21

3 point bet: Houston to beat Seattle at 11/10

2 point bet: Chicago to beat Detroit at 5/4

2 point bet: Indianapolis -8 to beat Jacksonville at 10/11

2 point bet: New England at Atlanta Under 49.5 points at 10/11

1 point bet: New York Jets to beat Tennessee at 31/20

Week 4: New England at Atlanta

Keys to the Game:

New England: It looks at least one more week before Brady gets some of his targets back so it would be nice if last years’ Stevan Ridley could show up.

Atlanta: The Falcons need to step it up in red zone. They moved the ball well against the Dolphins but all too often had to settle for field goal attempts and it cost them the game.

Verdict: WIth Gronkowski and Amendola still missing for the Patriots and the Falcon’s WRs not 100% this is not the game it could be if it were played in a few weeks time. The total points line seems high as these two offenses continue to splutter a little.

Prediction: Atlanta by 3

Suggested Bet: 2 points Under 49.5 points at 10/11

Week 4: Dallas at San Diego

Keys to the Game:

Dallas: How good did Tony Romo look when the Cowboys could run the ball? Expect plenty more DeMarco Murray here.

San Diego: The Chargers could easily be 3-0 instead of 1-2 and they need to start playing some 4th quarter football.

Verdict: Romo has a reputation as a choker when the game is on the line and the Chargers after weeks 1 & 3 know exactly how he feels. The Cowboys finally have some balance and should be able to win a close game on the road.

Prediction: Dallas by 4

Suggested Bet: No bet

Week 4: Washington at Oakland

Keys to the Game:

Washington: The Redskins and RGIII are improving albeit slowly. The defense has been historically bad over the first 3 weeks and it just needs to give them a chance.

Oakland: If Pryor is ruled out then the offensive line may just get Matt Flynn killed. McFadden having more yards than carries this week would help.

Verdict: The Redskins should get their first win of the season but you can take nothing for granted with their defense. Pryor has been masking some of the O-Line issues and if he misses out it could be target practice on Flynn. Too many variables here to get involved.

Prediction: Washington by 7

Suggested Bet: No bet
